David Fensterheim

Mr. Fensterheim is a Principal in the Washington D.C. law firm of Fensterheim & Bean, P.C., where his practice focuses on entrepreneurial litigation and advice to firms dealing with distressed real estate related assets. Mr. Fensterheim is the Co-Managing Director of the Farragut Group, LLC, an advisory firm founded in 1992 specializing in the acquisition and compromise of non-performing loan assets. The Farragut Group has advised clients with regard to over one-half billion dollars (book value) in asset transactions. Mr. Fensterheim was also a founder, and served as the Executive Director, of the Real Estate Capital Recovery Association (RECRA), a national non-profit trade association founded in 1989 to represent the interests of firms that provide real estate asset management and related services. Mr. Fensterheim was a Partner in the Washington D.C. law firm of Bayh, Connaughton, Fensterheim and Malone, P.C., from 1989 to 1994, and was an associate in the Washington D.C. law firm of Williams and Connolly from 1981 to1985. During 1985-1989, Mr. Fensterheim was a Senior Vice-President and General Counsel of the J.E. Robert Companies, a major national real estate services and investment firm.
Mr. Fensterheim received his Juris Doctor degree, Order of the Coif, from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1981, and his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Yale University in 1977.
Mr. Fensterheim is a founding board member of Fight for Children, Inc., a Washington-based philanthropic organization dedicated to improving the lives of Washington, D.C. based youths. He lives in Bethesda, Maryland with his wife and two children.
